Difficulty With Merged File

I'm trying to create a simple but modifiable egg shape. I used an ellipse sketch and loft between two points with the ellipse between them. The loft was fairly effective, but just didn't get the right shape and I couldn't figure out how to make the larger end with the ellipse that perfect sort of flattened egg shape I was looking for.

I found if I cleared the history, I could convert the loft to a T-Spline, which produced precisely the shape I was going for. But I didn't want to lose the ability to edit, as I have already made this project but now am attempting to do the same but with better methods that allow for easier modification in the future. So I copied the project to my local disk, made the changes to just the lofted body, uploaded it and inserted it into the other design. Thus I maintained the working history and obtained my perfectly shaped t-spline body.

Now comes the problem. I can't seem to do anything with the imported t-spline. I try in sculpt environment, utilities > convert, but when I click okay, absolutely nothing happens. No error message, no surface bodies, no brep of any kind. Right back where I was.

All I'm trying to do is round out the back end of this egg!! I've attached an image that should explain my situation. And I'm sure someone here has a better solution than what I'm attempting.

Bear in mind when looking at the attachment, the object shown is not symmetrical around a center axis, from the viewing angle pictured, it is 3 cm deep and 5 cm tall. That has been extremely challenging for me to create in a readily modifiable format, though it was pretty simple to make from a quad ball converted to a brep. I just don't know how to do this project well (i.e. utilizing good practice)

Thank you in advance! I look forward to having something to contribute someday.

Hi,

Why don't you try modeling it into the sculpt workspace from the start

Here is a result from starting with a cylinder and editing it's form according to an imported canvas ( File is attached )

I hope this helps

Regards

The first time through, that is what I did, but I found myself having to shut off capture design history several times leaving my final version of the first draft completely shut off from minor design changes. The next time around I decided to try lofting to allow for a complete design history and various tweaks, but then I couldn't do what I wanted without either losing design history or copying, modifying, and importing it into the original design only to find I could no longer manipulate, let alone use, the corrected design.

So I've restarted again, this time going with my original pursuit utilizing the sculpt work space to get precisely the shape I want. Now that I'm getting a bit more familiar with the timeline, I think I'll be more successful this time. Thank you for your input! I think this attempt will be more successful.
