Different Wall Thicknesses - Shell Command

Hello Everyone,

I would like to use the shell command to 'hollow' out a plate but need one of the walls to have a different thickness to the others - is this possible? Alternatively is there a workaround other than drawing the desired offset lines and extruding?

Thanks

Mat

Shell is producing the same thickness for all shells / walls. You can "Press/Pull" the e.g. bottom with the offset type "New offset"

Is there a way to do this uniformly i.e. give a certain range of thickness to the beginning and end of the body?

You mean a taper wall?   Draft will do it.

I see.
I want to actually make a cone which has different amount of thickness going from bottom to top.
The loft feature already helps me create a tapered wall but I want to play with the thickness. Can i do it using the draft feature?

Probably, it works but you would have to assess it for your purposes,

I would use Revolve, myself.
