Detachable element from body

I haven't started my document yet so nothing to attach but wanted to ask before I went down the wrong route.

I'm designing a robot vacuum. My question is how best to design the dust box which will be detachable.  So you have a cylinder and part of that cylinder  detaches with an internal shape.

For example:

Not asking for people to do it for me. Just point me in the right direction to start please.

Many thanks

I would make sure your Dust Tray is a separate component so you can add Assembly Joints to allow movement.  This way you can animate it's removal.  When starting your design, if you are creating components within one top level assembly, not external, make sure you create a new component BEFORE doing any sketches or bodies so they automatically fall under the related component.

Keep your timeline clean and constrain all your sketches will make for an easy design.
