Design with adjustement clearance

Hey folks,

Quick question : how do you design correctly an adjustement clearance between parts ?

Let’s say you want to have two parts linked together with finger joints, and you want 0.1mm between the joints. You can create one part and offset 0.1 mm in the sketch, then extrude the two parts.

I also saw that you can create both parts with no clearance, then use the "offset face" tool to create the clearance.

Is there any other ways to do (efficiently) this ?

Thanks !

You might create a named Parameter (or several standard) for sketch dimensions and features.

Yes, having a named parameter is definitely the way to go, in order to have all the clearance bound to the same value.

But it means that you have to define manually in your sketches or in your components the place where the clearance exists. I was hoping there was some tools / methods to simplify this process, but I guess not.

Thanks for the answer !
