Hello, I am a year 9 student who is working on an assignment on Fusion360. I am making a self-watering plant pot, but am stuck. The second image I have attached is my make of the reservoir and I was trying to insert the tube but instead it puts a whole in it. Could you please help me?

When you (probably) extruded the first part it "created new body" once the body was there the next extrude (probably) automatically sets to "cut" and leaves the hole. In the extrude menu the bottom box can be set to "Join". This will make the tube rather than cut the shape out.

While I believe the question has already been answered, it always helps if you can share the design file.

Export it in .f3d file format and attach it to a forum post.

Hi, thank you so much that helped!!

I am now having trouble with the pipe again. I am not too sure how to shape it how it is in the picture with the reservoir. Could you possibly give me a step by step on how to do that?

Sketch the section view for a Revolve on one side and the Pipe on the other side of centre line.

Bottom Arc is adjustable for your design.

Surface Revolve the L shape.

Add bottom Fillet.

Thicken this body then hide it.

Make a solid Pipe - New Body.

Cut the inside end off this pipe, with Split Body, use the top cylinder face as cutter. Hide the Offcut.

I then did another pipe as a cutter for both bodies, dish is hidden for the photo,

but the 2 bodies are Combine Joined before this cut,

Turns out like this, after you remove the construction bodies.

Edit Sketch 1 and fully define it after you have adjusted the pipe (cut to not cut the dish.)

Slightly different for the Pot.

Might help...
