design for autodesk challenge questions

Hi,

I have 2 questions to which I didnt find answer on forum.

after reading requirements for the 30 day challenge I am not sure about one issue:

  1. Pre-built components such as nuts, bolts, and brackets may be imported from McMaster-Carr, but multiples of the same will only be counted once.

after this point I understood that if I import a nut from McMaster-Carr it would be counted.

but then:

Yes, use of an academic project is acceptable provided they have 15 unique pieces (not including components like nuts and bolts).

So are they counted or not??

My second question is if I get any reply from Autodesk if my project will not be accepted or only I get massage from them if Its approved?

thanks

@Anonymous,

lets say you use a bolt + nut in a 6x circular pattern where two plates are held together.  The bolt and nut are unique only once, so the six instances of each will count as such: One bolt + one nut = two unique components.  If you use the same bolt and nut elsewhere in the model they'll still count the original instance only.

If you PM me your email address I'll take a look at your model.

Thanks!
