Design around reference object

I'm new to fusion but have a little bit of experience with some other 3d programs.

I have the STEP files of a truck bed that I want to use as reference to build something that will fit in it. How can I load those step files and use specific faces as reference points to build a sheet metal enclosure? I can't seem to find any tutorials like that.

Thanks for posting. To open those step file, go to File > Open> Open from my computer >  select the file

About, how you'll design around depends on the model. Can you attach the file here?

The reference file is huge. I guess I was looking for a tutorial on how to start sheet metal pieces off of certain reference planes or points.

You'll probably want to create a new Project Folder in Fusion's Data Panel. Then you'll want to upload your STEP file into that folder. Open a new design file in that folder, and insert the STEP file into it.

You won't start sheet metal components, or any components for that matter, DIRECTLY from faces of the STEP file. Instead, you'll use new sketches, projecting in the necessary points or faces of that step file to use as reference points/lines, and developing your desired shapes from those projections.
