Delete Projects

I want to just straight out delete a project. I saw a post from 2014 that said it was not supported. Is it still not supported?

Hi,

Sure it's possible. Go to the data panel and click on your name above

Name.png

That will open the A360 with the main page having all of your projects. Select the project you want to delete and then click "Archive", but it's not deleted yet, because you'll have to go to the Archived and delete it from there

Sorry, but it's been 3 years since I saw the first post about deleting projects, and the best the Autodesk dev team have come up with was this???

Seriously. it should not be this convoluted to simply delete a project.
right-click > delete is the best approach.

I honestly do not understand the unwillingness of the autodesk to allow users to control their own data how they see fit. First it was the incorporation of "cloud", which in my mind, is the biggest bottleneck to the software, but even simple tasks such as deleting failed / abandoned projects requires the user to not only be online, but go to a website, sign in, and navigate through a bunch of pages, just for the ability to do a simple task??

Come on... Dev's have really dropped the ball on this one. I mean really... If i can delete a file within a project, the ability to delete the project as well is a no brainer.

It's almost as if the Dev team intentionally went out of their way to make certain tasks as arduous, and illogical as possible.

This does not currently work as you describe.  I click on my name and nothing happens.

Right Click > Delete is all it should take. At least it can be done at all though. I've accidentally cliked on New Project before. It would be nice to be able to delete it right in the panel. Maybe just a confirm deletion so people arent accidentally deleting projects.

Having an 'archive' command move stuff to an "archive" is not really all that different from having a 'delete' command move stuff to a "trashbin".  It seems like the only functional difference is that the archive doesn't get periodically emptied.

But I do agree.  Users' expectation of a delete command is so strong that this design choice will lead to confusion.  it's not like people don't already know that deleting is often not immediate and very much like storing it an archive.  You don't need to rename it to point that out.   If I were them, I would have stuck with the delete/trash metaphor and perhaps said that Fusion 360 has an infinite or bottomless trashbin.

Yeah I agree with this completely. Another example would be the ability to move projects to different hubs easily, or just being able to share things with different accounts that you have. I hate the cloud thing too, coming from Solidworks I feel like my work will never be as secure as what it was on my hardrive, or as accessible, if i want that peice of mind I have to constantly export things and keep over-saving. I have given into the cloud now but that little column on the left hand side of my screen will never be as easy as my computer documents.

Great way to make me never want to use this again. I can't delete anything. I have basic 10 free editable documents and I can't delete any of them? I'm just hobby, I don't have any money for what it costs to subscribe to this just to be able to delete them and start over. C'mon man. How do I clear them out and start over?
