Default User Parameters for new documents?

Hi all...never posted here before and I searched a variety of phrases to see if I could find anything before posting.

Is there a way to set up a default set of user parameters for new documents? Once I learned about the user parameters I would love to implement a set I can use when making things. Like hole dimensions for metric screws...both large enough to have the screw pass through without needing to be drilled, and also ones sized just enough to "thread" with the screw. Plus various shell thicknesses, etc.

I usually end up making small mounts, adapters and holders for things I'm tinkering with and 3D print them on my Creality machines so having a set of defaults for screw holes, nut-cavity radius and depth, etc. would be nice.

My apologies if I missed a post or document telling how to do this...there's a lot of info on here.

I'm not sure the feasibility of having the parameters automagically populated like a design template but I'm sure you could probably write a script to run after opening a fresh design. Depending on what other answers you can get from the guys on this board, I would think about asking the question on the API and Scripts forum.

If you are familiar with python, I don't think it would be too hard to write yourself if you can figure out how to navigate the API.

When you use Insert Derive, then modify the master, all models using the derived component will be updated.  If you just use Insert into Current Design, then Break Link, the parameters will be local.
