Default Text settings for drawings

I have a complex model and I'm trying to create text on a construction layer that overlays the model. Every time I add text it defaults to the default settings and when I change them to what I need there is a lag in the update. Is there a way to change these default settings?

Hi @bhrishikesh

Thanks for posting! It looks like you have some questions about setting the default text used by Fusion 360. If you are working in a 2D drawing, you can set the default text in your Fusion 360 preferences, as shown below:Screen Shot 2018-02-01 at 8.28.50 AM.png

There is not, however, a way to change the default text used in a sketch in a 3D model. This would be a nice feature - it has been suggested at the Fusion 360 Ideastation at this link.  I would recommend giving the post a vote! We appreciate your input.

This feature does not work. Changing the settings has no effect on current or future drawings, it always makes an Arial 0.12" font with all dimensions and all new text notes regardless of the setting in preferences.

This is a massive text for computer and printer made prints. I and companies I work for have always used 0.09" or 0.1" height for text notes as a default. Typically for bulleted notes I use 0.08" height. Calibri is a preferred over Arial at every company I've worked at.

It is very irritating to say the least.

You are making a lot of noise about that Drawing Preferences cannot be edited to change the Text Font and Size in all NEW 2D Drawings.  I did a video to prove that these preferences do work.  Do remember, these new settings are for only new 2D Drawings.

Nope, doesn't solve it. I use templets and it doesn't work. I tried your ISO and Custom solution on a new drawing and the leader note text is still Arial. And please, smell some roses, you sound very grumpy.

Did you create your template AFTER you set your Preferences to the settings your desired?  Templates retain the preferences you had set when they were created.

Yes, the preferences were changed after the template was created.
