Data Panel Empty

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I re-opened Fusion 360 after 2 days and I have the Data Panel empty.. I can download my drawings from A360 but in the data panel I cannot see anything.

Also, I did not have this problem until your last update in which you say that you solved this problem, and that it is related to Windows 10, while I'm working with Windows 7.

What can I do?

Stefano

I was wrong. I cannot even download the file from A360, since the only format I can download the file is .f3z, and not .f3d. Why? What happened? I cannot work on anything.

Hi Stefano,

we are very sorry, that you have this issue. For some reason "Data Panel" window couldn't be refreshed.

Could you try this, please ?

- because you have Windows, you can try to hit F5 key to refresh the Data Panel

- other option how to refresh Data Panel is to resize the whole Fusion window or disable and enable Data Panel by click on the icon with 9 dorts next to the File menu

- if it doesn't solve ypur problem, could you restart the Fusion, please ?

Please, let me know if you still have the problem with an empty Data Panel after all these workaround steps.

Regards

 Roman

I already tried all the things you suggested, they obviously don't work, I still have the same problem.

Anyway the problem is not that the Data Panel cannot be refreshed: the problem is that I do not see anything at all. The Data Panel is a grey window.

Why it is not possible to download a .f3d file from A360? I did it a couple of weeks ago, now i can only download .f3z, and to open a .f3z I need the Data Panel, I cannot open it with "new drawing from file". This is not so smart.

Any other suggestion?

I have seen this behavior often.

Try to close all, then restart.

Kill all Fusion application running (CTRL+alt+canc)

I already tried to sing out/sign in, still nothing.

Is there a way to download a .f3d file from A360?

I reinstalled it, still not working. I really don't know what to do. I cannot even open the offline files, I cannot download anything useful from A360.

Hi Stefano,

WRT: download f3d file from A360.

Open A360 in Project / folder where you have your design document. Select the checkbox on the left side next to the document name. Mouse hover on the document and choose the export icon. From menu select Fusion 360 archive.

You should have new email (associated with you Autodesk ID) with a link for downloading of f3d document.

Could you send to my email ([email protected]) your diagnostic log files, please ? It would be very helpful for us - for identification what happened with Data Panel connection.

Regards

 Roman

@Anonymous

When it shows an .f3z file that usually means there are linked components in the design and thus you can't download an .f3d file.

I had this same problem on two of my computers and a complete uninstall and reinstall of Fusion solved the problem for me so you might want to try that.

Look here to see how to do it.

Hi Phil,

yes, the .f3z extension should be available for downalod only in case if you have referenced file(s) but it looks, that A360 shows and downloads this extension for all files if you are in item details.

.f3d extension is still available for download from the Project's Data View.

Hi Stefano,

I had a discussion with my colleagues and there is a new way, how to force the Data Panel to be refreshed.

Cold you try it, before you reinstall the Fusion, please ?

You need to

- Close Fusion

- navigate into the folder with your A360 data : C:\<<current user>>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\<<your Autodesk ID guid name>>

- in this folder you should see subfolder "OfflineJS", delete whole this folder

- start Fusion again

Please, let me know if it works for you

 Roman

Hi Roman,

I am having the same problem, but the solution didn't work. My data panel is just gray with a rotating circle. I tried some of the other solutions before I uninstalled and reinstalled, but that didn't help either. I can see the files in A360 and Fusion works on my other PC, just not this one (the one I mainly use). Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Mike,

in all your log files is reported a problem with Proxy settings. Could you start the Fusion, go into the Preferences -> Network and verify if your Proxy is properly configured, please ?

If you don't have Proxy enabled on your PC, could verify that you don't have configured Proxy in Fusion ? It needs to be completely turned off in this case.

If all settings are OK and you still can see only empty Data Panel, try to Reset all your Options please:

- close fusion

- delete manually all sub-folders and files from the Autodesk Fusion Roaming folders:

   "c:\Users\<current user>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360"

   "c:\Users\<current user>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Neutron Platform"

- and start Fusion again

Please, let me know if it works for you.

Hi

I have a similar problem in Windows 7, the data panel is blank and I've tried all from this post.

At the start the application appears this message:

Starting.JPG

I checked the firewall and seems OK, I tried to turn it off and I turn the antivirus off but still don't work..

Please help me 🙂
