Cutting and Indenting a Curved Surface

Hi.

One thing that has always a problem, is when I want to cut a curved section and indent it slightly to create a detail on a surface.

In the pic you will see the V shaped area. I did a Split Face using a Projected sketch, but I actually want to cut that area and move it in a mm to make it a feature.

Is there a  correct way of doing this.

Kind Regards

I would use an offset to do that.  Start Press/Pull, select your V-shaped face, make sure the type is set to New Offset, then type in -1mm as the offset.  If you can share your model here, I can show you on that model.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I haven't had the chance to try your suggestion, but here is the fusion file for you to look at.

Thanks for taking the time.

Kind Regards
