Cut shelled object in half

ok, so in fusion 360 I created the shell of an imported complex object (to do so I had to downgrade the mesh, create the shell, then use the cut tool to get the hollow inside) --> now, I want to split it into 2 parts where each is roughly half (so its open, I can combine it to make a mold) --> I am struggling on how to do this in fusion 360

Please attach your model.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it. If needed, ZIP a F3Z file.

@e_m_penn

What is the object?

The quality appears very poor geometry.

If it were my work I would start over from scratch.

you're trying to use a nurbs/brep modeler to edit a mesh model.  generally this type of activity requires a high level of skill with both types of modeling to be particularly successful.   since your object starts as a mesh, you may want to consider using a poly modeler for this task instead of fusion.  fusion isn't an ideal tool for work on mesh models.

I tried blender but so far have not found a good solution for splitting this shell to generate 2 halfs of a mold

Just to be sure you want this....Capture.PNG

But such that the split follows the 3D part-line ( if one exists) all around?

Why not employ a Lost Wax method of casting? As one.

Actually I think that with a bit of work it will be possible:....The Axes through the extremities cylindrical ends appear to be quite close to where the split plane(s) will be:
