I used to be able to use the sketched circle on the end of this pipe in the picture, and press/pull through the pipe to cut away where the sockets overlap on the inside, giving the effect of seamlessly profiled sockets welded to a pipe.

For some reason this feature no longer works? It doesnt register a cut is needed. Can anyone explain why this has changed? This feature was imperitive to some of the things we need this software to draw.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see this is a distributed design, i.e. those sockets are actually external references.

Such external references are Read Only, and you can't change them from this document. Which is why the cut operation is not happening on them.

One way is to break this referencing link (Right click on the socket's browser node and choose "Break Link").

It won't be Read Only anymore, but as it says you will lose the linking. Meaning making a change in the original socket file will no longer be reflected here.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

That's great many thanks. Breaking the link worked.

Kind Regards,
