Curved bracket issues (probably a stupid question)

Im sure there must be a easy way to do this but I've been trying for a couple of hours now and cant figure it out. Pretty new to this, fusions my first attempt at any kind of 3D modelling, so I apologise if im doing some stupid stuff here!

Im trying to create a curved bracket with a extruded boss at the top for a cap head bolt to go through. To get this far I have sketched the profile curve and extruded it to a body, then extruded the profile of my bracket and intersected it with the curved body.  I have then used the thicken command to give the bracket a thickness of 6mm. To create the boss I have created a new extrusion from the sketch and then cut it using the sketched curve profile.

The problem I'm having is when I thicken the curved section of the bracket, it follows the angle of the bracket rather than the direction of the axis. This means I am left with some edges that don't meet up as you can see in the video.  What should I be doing here? is there another way I should be doing this?

Thanks in advance for any help !

You should:

1. Fix all the yellow and red icons before continuing, otherwise your design is simply going to break.

2. share the design some can possibly show a better way to do this.

Short answer is to use solids, to create the lower section of the bracket, the vertical section, as an extrude 6mm wide/deep.

Using the top face of that new plate, Sweep that profile along the top curve, using parallel in the type section of the Sweep command,

this will give the horizontal top edge of the curve plate I think you are asking for.

After cutting the side shape away, I would tie the circular boss to the resulting top edge

You should fix the errors,

For a new user you were not that far away from the desired outcome,

Of course there are other ways, as well.
