Creating plane on curved surface and projecting intersecting bodies onto sketch plane

I'm trying to create a plane between these surfaces, so I can cut out a loft out of my shape. I find myself creating 3 points on different lines and using the 'Create Surface from 3 points' tool to do it. But it is quite cumbersome and it isn't very precise.

Is there a better way to do this? Is it possible also to project a line on the sketch plane where existing bodies intersect with the sketch plane? I have been looking up tutorials with the 'project to surface' tool, but I haven't managed to get it to work.

I cannot seem to add screencasts into my post, I keep getting a 'Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body.' Error.

3 point planes are frequently not the right tool for the moment.  like this one

That's called "project/intersect"

screen casts, the bain of AD forum programers.  The forum as had various issues with screen casts, and sometimes pics, for as long as I can remember.

completely unclear what your trying to do.  likely an easier approach to achieve the end result.  what is the desired end result?

I ended up doing the following:

1. Creating an axis (you see it small in the background) where the fillet is between two points.

2. Creating a plane using two edges (the axis and the edge going down alongside the fillet)

3. Offsetting a new plane based on the previous plane from point 2.

4. Using the intersect feature to project the lines from the existing bodies onto the sketch plane (I knew the future, but didn't know that I could use it here in this way -thank you! )

I guess my question is if there is a faster way to make a plane in more or less the position in the picture? I have been using three-point planes in the past, and I tried it now using the process above. However, if the fillet would not have been there that method would have not been possible in my mind.

bunch of lines in that pic.  which line, and what do you want to do with them?
