Creating patterns and applying to faces

How can I create holes or openings on top of a face like the images below. I was thinking of creating a pattern and somehow applying it to one entire face but not sure how to do it. Or do I have to manually paste every tiny hole (as below img) next to each other....hope there is a easier way to apply something like below to an entire face

Hi Andrew,

You can create one hole and use rectangular pattern. The idea is to create one feature and then replicate it.

Please refer to the screencast - http://autode.sk/1DuDIvV

I 've used "pattern features" in the pattern type in the Pattern command dialog box. I could also select all the relevant faces and do "pattern faces", which is usually better and faster.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any questions.
