Creating jaw crusher teeth HELP.

Hi everyone. I'm practicing 3D drawing of crusher spare parts and I'm stuck. I need to create the wavy teeth on top as a solid and can't seem to get it. I try creating the whole block the do a sweep cut on top but the teeth became flat on top. I try to do a single teeth as a seperate body, pattern it to duplicate and I have no idea how to combind it.

So I'm hoping some of you guys can show me the light. Point out what I did wrong and how should I reapproach it.

Thank you in advance.

Is this what you're trying to do:

Note: I know this is only half of it. I just used your sketch which was split in the middle.

Basic operations:

  • Created a longer sweep path to ensure the next step would remove all of the material.
  • Used a sweep to remove the top of the base body.
  • Used a sweep to create the teeth as a new body.
  • Used split body to remove the ends.
  • Combined the tooth body and base, keeping the tools and creating a new component.

Like this?  Ed's reply arrived while working on mine, but same thing.

Using your sketches, I have sweep cut the body 1 block, with the tooth sweep profile sketch...

Used the side profile sketch to cut the grooves to length with Split body....

Then it is trimmed on the side with Split body, using the body face in Split body.

Now it is Combine > Join --- body 1 is target, the top grooves are all selected to be joined, in one operation,

Offcut top grooves are removed.

Step up the timeline, Right click my icons and you will see the settings for each operation.

Might help....
