Creating a wavy container with a rimmed lip

hello,

Im trying to make this wavy container with a rimmed lip. i have no idea how to do this, i was hoping for some help on a creating a good model and for the wave to be uniform all around and also a lid included that can fit over the rim. i'm really struggling to get some help with this so any help would be appreciated.

Only difficult part is deciding whether the flat cut of the tube is normal to the axis, or

if cutting a solid, that would not be the result.

 

there are a few ways to do it, and any number of lip shapes,

Sketch half of the cylinder (rectangle)

Patch > Revolve three legs of the rectangle, using the 4th leg as the axis,.

 

Split body, with the wavy line. (Makes a top and bottom).

Thicken the two patch bodies, as desired

Hide the top.

 

Select the lip shape, and the inside edge of the tube, use Sweep with Join.
