I was just wondering if anyone has any tips on how I could create a star similar to the one in the image? I have sketched the shape I want I'm just not sure how to go about making it into this shape. Any advice is much appreciated, regards.

I got it sorted. I started again after watching a few tutorials. My issues where down to not using constraints pretty much as you pointed out. I also wasn't projecting geometry to my advantage in most cases. I was also using splines for curves made much easier when I switched to arcs. I've still much to learn, thanks for all the help.
The spline tool is killing my computer however.
