Creating a post within a design

Hi Everyone

As a newbie to Fusion I am on a steep learning curve and despite watching a load of tutorials I am still struggling with something I am trying to do.  I should say that as I do not own a 3D printer this is about learning the software more than anything else so if anyone can share your knowledge it will be appreciated.

So far I have created a very simple part - a curved model rocket cone (so pleased with that bit) however I decided I wanted to add a hollow tube running through the centre of the part.  So far I have tried creating offset planes, drawn circles on each plane, selected them and tried 'lofting them'.  The circles can be selected however when I try 'loft' I get a checkbox that does not seem to do anything and OK is greyed out.

I have tried to create a pipe but cannot create a vertical plan through the part to be able to create a pipe in the right plane.

I am confident this is user error and someone will point out what I am doing wrong in the software so thanks for any help or pointers you can share.

Loft can not do tubes in one go.  You must select the complete set of profiles falling within the outer diameters for a solid Loft.

You can either Shell the body or do a second cut Loft with inner profile.

Pipe just needs a vertical centre line, it will do hollow tubes.

Please attach your model.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it. If needed, ZIP a F3Z file.

Hi

Thanks for the tips and creating the vertical centre line makes it all
sound a lot easier. My next question is how do you create a vertical
centre line - do I need a vertical plane to do that ??

Thanks

I don't know how you made your nose cone, but if you use Revolve, (on Front View) you already have a vertical centre line. (One above and one below the base of the cone) allows for a pipe underneath it.  But now you just need the bottom rectangle and revolve the whole lot.

Hi Pavan

If I could find either a delete or send to trash option that would be great.  Unfortunately I have not been able to find either option so have deleted evrything from within the designs and re-saved.

It would just be neater if I could delete the iles completely.

Nooooo.

Delete is not right here.  Edit sketch, add move or remove the articles you are altering.

Hide the sketch (eyeball). If you delete the sketch, you are back to empty file.

Moght help….
