Creating a conical helix / tapered spring

Is there a way to create conical helix? The Coil commend only allows spiral and cylindrical helix and it also only allows for round, square, and triangle.  I want to make a tapered/conical spring with a rectangular cross section.

a) This add-in might be interesting for you:

b) The shapes of the coil command do not matter that much. You can always use the path of the coil and sweep what ever profile you want.

The coil function can do this directly using the Angle option.

@etfrench: That's true. I somehow thought the form should be opening and closing again... But that's just my wired brain

Thanks etfrench,

The angle tool gets me half way to my goal by tapering the helix.  I also need to use a rectangular cross section, not round, square, triangle.

Thanks

Use the Press/Pull command to transform the square profile to rectangular.

Use a triangular profile and then create a construction plane along the path on one of the edges of the triangular profile. sketch your profile on that plane and sweep it along the helix.
