Created a hinge that works fine till I add it to my model...

I uploaded a McMaster-Carr 1100A8 half mortise concealed hinge and was able to make it actuate just fine. 

 I installed into my model and joined it to my components and now I can't make it bend. I can make the individual joints animate in my model but not the door open and close.

SO as a point of information:
I had to join RIGID each pin to the base ends , i.e. the plate that connects to the counter and the "bracket" that will connect to the box side
I then joined AS BUILD the "bracket" to the box side base plate
I then created a REVOLUTE joint between each of the "pins " and their respective "straps"
I thought I was good since I was able to make it move correctly in the design. I could do it MANUALLY then I added the MIN / MAX restraints and it would at that point only actuate by using the ANIMATE function.

Something else I thought about, make sure you do not have contact solver turned on or created any contact sets. 3rd party models are notorious for not having the model correctly dimensioned for tolerances and the contact set will often preclude movement because of interference of the overlapping bodies.

OK Thank you all for your help, As I mentioned I am VERY new to this , and this is the first undertaking of this size, it sounds like I may have to drop back and recreate a few things in order to make it all work together, I have learned alot with the help of the 360 community , thank you again for all your time.

Hi,

Follow the screencast and timeline in the file and compare with your design.

I have grouped the door elements of the hinge and respectively the parts on the cabinet side.

You now have to define joint limits or set up contact sets.

Thank you Guenther,

I think my issue was too many movement constraints on the joints, and possibly using the wrong method of JOINING components, I was limiting the movement on all 4 revolute joints and that was binding something up, once I only restrained 2 of them it works fine, as well as using your method of creating rigid groups rather than a rigid joint between all the parts.

Hi,

You had created the revolute joints on the pins but then did not connect them to the cases.
Also you have to be careful which element is fixed.
In your file there were three fixings where one is enough.
