Create triangular prism at end of an extrude

Here is an object, I would like to add a triangular prism at its end. The only way that I can see is, to create a sketch on a plane and draw triangle on it and then extrude the triangle to create the triangular prism and then combine the two bodies. Is this the only way to achieve this effect?

Please ignore the gap. I have kept it there so it is clear to explain what I am trying to achieve and what method I know of to achieve it.

No.

If you sketch the side view, it would be done in one go.

Otherwise you can Draft, Chamfer, Split Body etc.

Might help…..

You could also go back in the timeline to the original sketch of the main body and add the triangle to the sketch and then update the extrusion.

If the rectangle was extruded from the end, I would just time travel to the point where it was extruded and extend it the length of the triangle leg.  Chamfer the end to create the triangle.

If it was extruded from the side, I would extrude (or Press/Pull) the face.

@matrixofdyna

Your screenshot image shows that none of your sketches are fully defined.

This is considered poor modeling practice and is bound to cause multiple issues moving forward.
Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?
