Create shell without creating a shell

I've created this a number of different ways as a learning exercise. It's an organizer for my car console to be 3d printed.

In this iteration I have two features that I want to cut down into the main body by 43 mm. Extruding down doesn't work on these features because of the slope and the filets in the body at this area. seems the ideal thing would be to create  a shell with those sketches, but that doesn't work.

Could I mirror the two sketches on the top plane to the bottom and then adjust them for size and position and then do a loft?

Thank you!

Why not shell?

That's the end result I'm looking for. Can you elaborate on how you got there?

First split the body to separate the part for shelling. The splitting tool is the surface.

Then shell the body.

Extrude the wall „To Body“. The body is the bottom.

Select the outwardly protruding wall piece and delete it.

Combine the two bodys to get one body again.

Perfect! Thank you for your help!

I walked through the model but got stuck extruding the wall. went back and closed the ends of it and had tp select a small piece of the wall as well as the main part and the extrusion worked.

I really appreciate your assistance with this.
