Create mold using .STL file in Fusion or Meshmixer

HI All,

I have a problem making an .stl file to solid, but really solid (fully filled in with material). I was downloaded a model in stl format (https://www.myminifactory.com/object/elsa-from-2013-frozen-23754). I would like to do a mold to be able to prepare chocolate/soap Elsa...

I was inserted a disk to the bottom and I was able to close the hole on the dress but it has still empty body. When I make boolean difference, material will remain in the form.

Could you help me how to solve my problem?

Thanks a lot for your help in advance!

This was definitely a job for mesh mixer.  Fusion doesn't have the full set of tools that mesh mixer has, and fusion generally sucks with meshes.  Separate shells was very useful here. attached is the figurine.  Hopefully it will work for you.

steps to do this in mesh mixer-

-use inflate and smooth brushes to close gap at the dress

-slice a little off the bottom with plane cut, (gets rid of the faces connecting the outer and inner parts)

-separate shells

-delete everything but the outer shell

-make solid

Thanks a lot for your help, I will try to repeat the advised steps (as soon as I will get back my PC)! 🙂

I forgot, do a "separate shells" first thing also.  there are a ton of little fragments in this model.  Don't know if they will create a headache down the road, but probably a good idea to delete them out first.
