Create 3dimensional .dxf from Body

Hello Guys an Gals,

I've  created a parametric model for a kitchen cabinet in which I can determine basic parameters such as length, height, material thickness and also the amount of dowel pins I want to put in.

Now I would like to know if it is possible to derive an 3 dimensional .dxf file from a body so that I can send this to my manufacturer for production? I know it is possible to create 2 dimensional .dxf files from the different faces but that would leave me with multiple .dxf files for one part since the side panel in the picture above requires machining on different faces and I would like to send only one .dxf file per part to my manufacturer.

I'm looking for a way to get the outside contours of the body and the location of the holes on the different faces in a nice simple 3dimensial .dxf if that would be possible

I've tried extracting both .dxf an .dwg files from my model via the MyHub for fusion 360 but these files are based on the underlying sketches and aren't very useful since they include geometry that I would like to keep hidden such as sketch lines and all other sort's of sketch geometry . It also doesn't show the patterned features such as the holes I've created in my model. It seems to  basically just exports my sketches as they are and I would like to have an .dxf representation of my body.

I've also tried to overlay a 3dimensional sketch over the body within the same component, I thought that if I just sketch around the body I could then later on use this 3D-sketch to create a .dxf from that sketch. This works for the outside of the cabinet panel and I can even connect the circle for the dowel holes in the new 3d-sketch to the original underlying sketch circle I've use to create my body. The only problem is that in 3d-sketching it is not possible to create patterns from sketch entities like e.g. a circle in this case in any other plane the origin plane of the 3d-sketch. And I need to be able to pattern this in order to keep my model parametric.

Maybe any of you know off an add-in or script that could provide such functionality or maybe if there's a certain workaround I would love to hear about it.

Thank you,

Stijn

Hi,

1. which file format is required by the manufacturer?
2. here you find the export formats for 2 license types

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?
