Crashing when saving (Save as New) component

I've been trying to save a component from an assembly as a separate file to edit for variations and every time I do fusion crashes. As a workaround I tried copying and, pasting as new, in the main tree but this also causes a crash.  Finally I had to copy the whole file and work from there.
