Crashing after latest update

Is anyone else finding that Fusion is crashing constantly in the latest update? When I try to edit a sketch, the viewport is in IsoView and then auto switches to the plane view of the sketch and when this happens all of the tools disappear, the sketch shows up in the flattened view with a "haloed" effect and then the cursor turns to the spinning ball and the program shuts down. This triggers the auto email to Autodesk.

Is there a option for switching back to the previous version? Currently it is basically unusable.

There is an option in preferences to enable/disable the auto-look feature for sketches if you wish.

I am aware of a known issue where the following happens:

1. Create a sketch and choose a planar face of a body as the base plane

2. Fusion 360 will automatically project the edges of the face as sketch entities into the sketch and then toggle the visiblity of these sketch entities off. (The feature makes it possible to snap to exisiting geometry more readily)

In the latest version, there is a known issue where the profile, or enclosed area defined by contigous sketch entities remains. Leaving a yellow/orange profile in the work space.

If you are experiencing this issue, you may consider the following suggestion:

Before creating a sketch, Insert a Construction Plane based upon the face of the body with a zero distance offset. When creating the sketch, select the construction plane as the base plane instead of the planar face of the body. Does this help to get around the issue?

I hope that helps.

Thanks,

I am still reviewing the error reports with development. In the meantime, could you post a screenshot of the "haloed" sketches?

Below is another forum discussion that may be related to this one. If possible, could you take a look and let me know if this sounds like a similar issue.

I'm also wondering if you modify the graphics preferences if the crashing continues. Could you try the "limit all effects" option below?

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How...

You may also consider testing the "simple" selection styles in the graphics panel of the preferences as well.

Thanks,

I have tried it all and it still keeps crashing...here is a screen shot of the halo of what happens.

I have an open file, try to create new sketch, it moves to sketch view, all tools disappear, it crashes.

I have attached the file. I have a video too but this will not let me attach a video - if you would like I can send that too.

I tried this and now it does not go to the sketch plane view and simply crashes from where the file is...

nothing seems to work.

Also crashing.  I'm able to click "create sketch", select the plane, and then boom, it crashes.  Can't even get past step 1.  Also crashes when I try to edit sketch in an existing model as soon as the sketch opens.

Thank you for the update, I'm sorry the problems are ongoing. We are still investigating this.

Could you try resetting your view to the default layout?

Use one of the following keystrokes:

  • Mac OS: ALT+Command+R
  • Windows:  CTRL+ALT+R

OR from the File Menu:

reset to Default Layout.png

Thanks,

I'm not sure if there is anything you could have done differently. Were the ribbons very customized? Any custom API commands or anything? As you restore your view settings you may want to see if one particular change, triggers the issue. Please let us know if you see anything!

Thanks,
