Could not open files :(

Hi,

 

I just updated to the newest version of Fusion360. SOME!!! of my recent 

assemblies and designs could not be opened! Error message was not helpful

at all. 

 

It turns out these files all contains some (linked) components with chinese

characters in it.  I cleared local cache file in my computer. But it didn't help.

I didn't try promoting from the old version yet. Maybe give it a try later.

These files contain months of my works. It is really annoying and frustrated!!

Please help!  I also had a lot of "unresolved components" which was also very

annoying. I hope fusion360 could improve data stability for our faithful users.

Sorry to hear about these issues. Can you upload a copy of the diagnostic log files?

Hi guys!

 

Thanks for helping me! I really appreciate it!

 

Although Fusion360 is a cloud based CAD/CAM package which works really great,

I would suggest a clear way to let endusers backup their project locally, for safety and data

protection.

I can reproduce this problem in my environment, currently this issue has been logged as UP-28176 in our internal system.

 

I'm fully understand your worries...there is a way to Export your designs and backup them locally, like the attached image;

 

Meanwhile, if export couldn't meet your requirement, pls feel free to post any suggestion in our IdeaStation --Fusion was build on these suggestions! and our product management teams are frequently reviewing this to determine the priority of planned features:)

Hi guys,

 

Thanks for your help again! 

 

I was trying to promote old version of my corrupt files. I've tried from version 8 down to version 6 (v9 was the latest version), with no luck to open any of them.

for version 6, fusion360 client can show the thumbnail, but cannot open it.

 

Please help me!  How can I edit and update my design then?

Hi XJ, glad to hear you fixed this, I'm sorry we couldn't resolve this issue for you..

Engineer team found two problems with this design, one is about data corruption, the other one is about linked relationship between 2525 风扇 got lost... we are trying to find a way to repair the latest version correctly and quickly. I will keep you updated.

Hi Adelemm,

 

Thank you very much for your help! For the recovery, I think I would not waste your team's time 

to do it, bc I've used one of the older version recovered all the things I need. "2510 风扇" file was

missing from the reference, maybe because I've changed File name to 2510 fans during the migration 

window......

 

But I have one more problem, need your help! Please see the z-platform file : http://a360.co/1SrMD7W

 

In the file, there is  neither 10mm 光轴  nor Rod-D10 component, but these two components were

showing in the reference list, as the following pic shows. I want to delete these reference, how can I do it?
