Copying folders Fusion 360 / Managing revisions

I have a folder that has several sub folders. In the top level folder there is a main assembly which contains parts and subassemblies embedded in the parent folder's structure.
This assembly is a prototype but it is time to begin making it into a production quality model and drawing set. I want to start from the prototype assembly and make changes without modifying the record of the prototype configuration. I know that I could use the automatic revisions that Fusion 360 creates every upon saving, but since the current assembly is at Rev 213, I am not going to be able to access it again unless I remember that number. Furthermore, as more revisions of the assembly are pushed to production, I would have to remember a sequence of seemingly arbitrary Fusion 360 revision numbers corresponding to the production revision.
With other CAD programs I have used in the past this situation could be handled by simply copying the entire folder structure and then renaming the copy and making changes. SolidWorks sometimes wouldn't require this because of the configuration tool.
I know it is possible to export/import a *.f3z file but that flattens the folder structure completely. Is there a way to do a complete folder copy while keeping the subfolder hierarchy in place? If this is not possible, any recommendations for managing production revisions in Fusion 360?
