Copy/Paste a linked body within design

I am having an issue with copy/paste with a linked component.

I have one file that has the ability to do it, and another file that can not do it.  Both files have history active, both bodies are within sub components of a main component.  One of the files works as expected, the other file creates a copy paste feature in the timeline, but doesn't actually create a copy of anything.

See my screencast for more details.

I've come across a couple of component paste bugs that behave like this.  In one of my cases, one of the features in the pasted timeline was losing it's setting, and causing a subsequent feature to fail.  This made the whole paste operation fail, but didn't tell me whu.

The work around was to temporarily "suppress" features in the component, copy the component (while the feature where suppressed), paste the new component, un-suppress, and go hunting for the feature causing the failure.

Yeah, there seems to be a work around for most problems, thankfully.  I was able to find a viable work around for this problem, but its not as user friendly as just a simple copy and paste.

Thanks for sharing. 😊
