Convert STL from scanned data to Parametric Model

Hello,

I have a scanned STL file that I would like to reverse engineer into a parametric model. I'm new to Fusion 360 and have limited CAD experience. What are the basic steps/options I have to get from point A to point B? If there are links and tutorials for the steps I would appreciate it.

Without some basic information, perhaps a screenshot, that is hard to answer.

Is the scanned object more a mechancal objec or is it more organic in shape ?

Thanks for the fast response. I am having problems getting Fusion 360 to load now but I have attached a picture of a similar part. It is a combination of organic and geometric. I'm looking to replicate it as close as possible to the original. The scan data has holes on some of the surfaces. I'll take a shot once I can it working again.
