Convert spline to polylines : problem

Hello,

I try to export a sketch into DXF. This sketch has polylines, which disappear when I open the DXF in Inkscape.

I have read that it is normal, and there is a workaround : opening the DXF in QCAD ( https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-design-validate/splines-removed-when-saving-as-dxf/td-p/57... ) and export it in another DXF format.

This workaround don't work well, and it still bugs in spline.

I installed the Fusion 360 plugin "converting splines to polynes". But it is not the same interface that here : https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=4611814297957846949&appLang=en&os=Win64

The only window have one choice : "conversion tolerance" (mm). I have not the choice of "number of section to split lines into", and the DXF in output dont have polylines. Do i wrong things ?

Sorry for my english, i am not sure that you can understand me Man Embarassed

Hi @Anonymous,

I am sorry to hear about the difficulties! Can you post your .f3d file from Fusion here? I would love to test around and see if I can get it to work in Inkscape. I have done a few projects now in Fusion and then pushed it into Inkscape that contained splines and had it work so I'd be curious to see whats going on.

Thanks,

Hi,

I have tried a lot:

1.  The export via save as dxf transfers only lines

2.  With the spline to polyline plugin I get an unclean curve, which has to be reworked and hardly corresponds to the original.

3.  I now use a workaround with a 360.

Here is my way:

1.  Create sketch in top view

2.  Share public link

3.  Download as dxf (A360)

4.  Open in QCAD > Perfect spline

If I want to work in inkscape later, I export a svg from qcad.down.png

I hope it helps

@James.Youmatz: I've run into the same issue with the Dxf to polyline addin.  It no longer has a dialog to set the number of segments.  Can this addin either be fixed or removed from the store?

Thank you for your answers.

My method :

- In fact, the plugin Spline to polyline has not the label "number of sgements" but it's work ( under the label "conversion tolerance"). It convert well Spline to Polyline. If i try to open DXF without this plugin, neither QCAD or Inkscape can read all the splines.

- open the DXF in QCAD (Inkscape can't open it correctly)

-  save the file as a "R15 DXF"

- and Inkscape can now read the file.

I have join the f3D files in atachments. The only faces concerned is : hautcote2_2
