Hello,
I am trying to convert 2 mesh files into a solid body. I insert the mesh file -> then i Generate face groups -> then i convert the mesh. But when it comes the time, my spiral is destroyed.
I want a 53mm male-female connector.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem or has a 53mm male female connector?
Thanks a lot.

Given the overall simplicity of the shape, I would be inclined to model it from scratch in fusion. Generating solids from meshes is best avoided wherever possible, unless unavoidable.

I agree with above. converting a mesh to a solid is usually not a satisfactory workflow. given the simplicity of the object modeling it infusion would be easier and yield better results.

attached model is a good start. dims in the sketches can be tweaked to yield desired results.

Hello ,
Thanks a lot for your answer.
Can i ask you something else.
I have the same problem with these STL, I am not sure if I am gonna take good 3d prints if it is faceted.
How they can be solid?

 Hi,

Again, I would model this from scratch. It is not a very complicated part to make. I would approach this with the following:

Sketch the centre cone shape on the zx plane and revolve.

Sketch the round section on the XY plane and extrude.

Sketch 1 fin shape on the ZX plane and extrude out.

Patten the fin shape 4 times around the z axis.

This isn't meant directly at you, but is more of a statement about using CAD in general as a newcomer. Downloading STLs and trying to modify them to create what you want is not a good starting point. Learning basic modelling techniques from tutorials and working your way up in complexity will give you far less problems and way better results.

In a case like this model, converting from a mesh body to a solid body is not too difficult.

Simply redoing the Extrude additionally as shown in this figure will produce a relatively clean solid body.

The connection of the surfaces in this fin section is not correct, so the handle needs to be manipulated and adjusted to make a clean body.
