Constrained vs Free Orbit

This just started happening... models randomly (it seems) change over to constrained orbit, even though I've set Free Orbit as my default in Preferences.

Annoying.

I'm getting the same issue and it's supremely annoying. I have to keep clicking the button at the bottom to switch it back. I use a 3D mouse.

Just to confirm, do all of you have 3D Connexion drivers installed? This will change the option to Constrained in some scenarios, such as Sketch Lock and Lock Horizon.

I do, and have had it for a long time with no problem. This just started. But I do believe I updated the driver recently, hmmm...

I do have the 3D connection drivers installed. I know it locks out the rotate during sketch, but what is the lock horizon feature? When and how does that happen? Is there a way to disable this behaviour?

Lock Horizon is togglable from the Navigation Modes tab of the 3DC Settings app when Fusion is in focus. Essentially, it constrains orbit about the axis perpendicular to your viewport (often the Y axis in the Home view with a Z-up layout).

We also recently relocated the option within Fusion to toggle usage of the legacy vs newest feature set of the 3DC settings, which appears to have had the unintended side effect of resetting the value to default (newer features). It's possible you were set to the legacy option previously. The option is now located in the Compatibility & Troubleshooting section of Preferences.

The issue is caused by Fusion's incompatibility with the latest Space Mouse driver update, we are still looking into a way to resolve this. Temporarily reverting to the legacy Space Mouse driver is the only known workaround.

I am also having the same problem.  Please let us know here if a fix has been pushed out or if there is something we can change in prefferences etc..

I am having the same issue! It is super annoying especially since it just randomly does it. I have had 3D Space mouse forever. Not sure what you are calling latest update, but I do not have the most recent update. This actually started after Fusions latest update.

The incompatibility issue has been resolved on the Fusion side, and the fix is already available in the recent Fusion Insider update. For those who are not members of the Insider program, the fix will be included in the official July Fusion release, scheduled for July 15. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused and appreciate your patience as we worked to resolve it.
