Conflicting Joints

Hi All,

I tried to model a joystick, with three revolute joints and a planar joint. The revolute joints are obvious if you watch the screencast. The final (planar) joint to force the yellow stick part in the slot of the blue guide results in a conflict.

How could I address this issue?

Hi,

please share your design.

Then it can be explained using a model.

You can achieve this easily with a motion link:

Thanks Peter,

Exactly what I tried to achieve. Easy to replicate and does the job for me!

I'm still curious though if there is a reason why the planar joint was locking the assembly. Is it simply impossible or did I make an error in the design?

Kind regards,

Thijs
