Configurations - Suppress Groups

Is it possible to suppress a group within configurations? Right now I have to individually select every component inside the group, but is it possible to suppress the whole group at once within configurations? If this isn't currently available can I request this feature? It would really streamline my modeling.

Also, if a group displayed as together instead of individual components in the configurations box that would help.

Hi @dallinN5N4D ,

Yes, this is high on our list of enhancements we would like to get to.  Other users have already made us aware of the usefulness of this feature.  We will get to it sometime in the not too distant future.

Thanks for reporting!

Hi @dallinN5N4D this has been requested by others as well - we are tracking this improvement internally as FUS-125000. I have added your request to this as well.

One note that may help - when you configure the suppression of the first relevant feature in the timeline, all dependent features will be implicitly suppressed. So for example, if you create a component and want to suppress all of the actions that take place within that component, if you suppress the Component Creation timeline event all of the downstream features will also be suppressed. (This is what happens when you configure the component suppression at the browser level).

Cheers,

Karina

Is this available yet as I can't figure out how to achieve it. When you say not too distant future, how far is too distant? It's 2 years on which must be on the boarder line of too distant?

@andrewLYA7T , I cannot give you a firm timeline, but I can tell you that it is on the list under consideration for next year.  It is not a huge task so I am hoping we can accommodate it next year.  I can get back to you when the plan becomes more concrete.

I'm also interested in this feature, would be super helpful.
Also having sub configurations under each configuration too to create multiple versions of each variant.

@benQNT9Q @dallinN5N4D

A quick update - configuring Group Suppression is actively being worked on.  Cannot say when it will be available, but it should later this year.

Fantastic, thanks for the update.
Is there anything in the roadmap for sub configurations?

Could you explain what you mean by sub-configurations on top of what you mentioned in one of your previous posts?

Being able to have another configured design under a master configuration.
i.e Main configurations could be a box "With" or "Without wheels", and the "With Wheels" could have 2 or more wheel options under it.
