Computer just froze solid

Has anyone else ran into this in the last few days?

I can't even remember what I was doing inside Fusion, but suddently win7 locked up all the way. Frozen screen, and only the mouse would move. I hard booted the machine and it came back up no problem, then as soon as I relaunched Fusion the same thing happened again and I didn't even get through the load screen.

I hit the reset button on my computer and after a few seconds win7 started shutting down processes and suddenly I was at the "force shutdown" button and I was able to cancel and stop the computer from having to reboot again.

Anway, I'm not looking to troubleshoot this per se, just wondering if anyone else has had this happen recently. This is the first (and second) time I have had a lockup like this while using Fusion.

I'd start with some basic PC maintenance, Start with CCleaner and go through the system clean and reg fixes. Then there is a section that lists startup programs. Every fruking program these days wants to be in the System tray. Turn all that crap off. Same with any extra virus crap, fool bars, and spyware dectector detectors.

Check which graphics card 360 is using if you have 2.

Run a Disk check/repair.

Possibly uninstall fusion360 and reinstall.

If you don't have an SSD get one. 🙂  Even a cheap one is at least 5x faster than the fastest platter HDs out there.

Posibbly need to check for system overheating, and do a memory test.

Hi russtuff,

What type of computer are you running on?

Can you share the specs?

Thanks

Thanks guys. I'll uninstall and reinstall and see if that helps. I keep current on Ccleaner, memtest, etc, etc.
I built the machine:

MSI Gaming 5 Mobo
Intel i7-4790K
8gig GSKILL memory
Geforce GTX 970
Samsung 850 PRO SSD

Assembled, not built. 🙂  One of my pet peeves when people say they built a computer...
