I currently working on a composite glider fuselage mould and aiming to design a quick-release canopy flange, as depicted in the attached image.

The fuselage I am working on is this one.Screenshot 2025-04-01 221540.png

However, I am encountering difficulty in creating the flange across the entire canopy area. Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Can you explain in more detail what kind of flange you want?

Hi! By leveraging the existing body geometry, you may restore the underlying base geometry. The canopy can be defined easily. You could use it as a starting point to further refine the canopy.

Many thanks!

Hi Mr. @wersy , I'm looking to make a mould flange similar to this for 3D printing moulds.IMG_6212-1024x768.jpg

Hi Mr.  @johnsonshiue  thank you for your time. I want to create a canopy flange on the fuselage so that the canopy, when made separately using 3D molds, aligns perfectly with the fuselage flange surface.

No canopy in this file, any flange rebate will have to be added to that seat outline and not interfere with the canopy or the wing leading edge.

(Super small model)

Might help....

You can use sweep.

Thank you so much, Mr. @wersy. Your method worked perfectly—I hadn't considered that using the sweep could solve the issue.

Out of curiosity, are there any alternative methods to achieve a similar flange? I greatly appreciate your time and assistance.
