components move together

I downloaded a STEP file from a seller website and i am trying to modify the design but im having trouble changing the dimensions.  Whenever I try to move a component or body something else moves with it, and sometimes even what i select does not move the direction i want it to. I want to find a way to remove all connections between all bodies. I have tried copying and "paste new" but it only helps some of the bodies

I think you should be moving components and not bodies. Give that a try, either by changing the selection filters as you did in the video or choosing them from the browser instead of clicking them on the canvas.

Great. You should notice that the two main components in your video are actually two instances of the same component (you can tell because they're the same name, with :1 and :2 after them).... so if you edit one, the other one will change. Could be helpful or could be a pain.
