Combining bodies and shelling

Attached is a simple file where I can one body made from a revolved sketch and two others made from forms. How can I combine and shell them? It seems that no matter what I try, the shelling always throws an error.

Should I combine bodies before converting them into components? Because when I try combining components, it still leaves behind the constituent components instead of combining them into one.

Attached are the three bodies, uncombined. Please let me know if and how you manage to combine them into a single component and shell said component.

Thank you!

Takes 2 Combines,

first is a Cut on body 2 by the other 2, (for less internal overlapping) - Keep Tools.

Combine > Join the 3 bodies. (don't Keep Tools)

You didn't say a wall thickness this is a 1mm Rounded Shell.

Step the timeline for settings.  Components? not required.

Thank you. I managed to combone all three bodies in a single combine feature. Is this ok or is it problematic? And should I always combine bodies before converting to components? Why doesn't combine work well when combining components instead of bodies?

The selection options for Combine only lists Bodies, not Components.

Combining the 3 bodies was not going to give Fuson a problem.  Shelling with the internal overlaps can.

I didn't say, but Rounded Shell did work fine, the Sharp Shell always failed here.  (Still no wall thickness?)

There is no logic, making each of the parts in your file, 3 Components, when asking to Combine the bodies in each Component to become one blob of material.

Fusion will just empty 2 of the 3 components.  None of this was causing the Shell problem, it was the actual shapes of the bodies doing that.

Are you sure you understand wat the purpose a component is?
