Combine parametric pattern into single body

I want to make a grid from a body that is complex. The grid size is generated parametrically, eg. x=3, y=3 generates a 3 by 3 grid of the shape. I need the final output to be a single body, but I read that there's no automatic way to combine bodies generated by pattern.

Example:

Generated using patternGenerated using pattern

Since there's no automatic way to combine the bodies, I tried to work around it by creating a tool. The tool is made using the Combine feature to create a negative. Then I use the Combine feature again to do a cut.

Then I tried used the Pattern feature on this cut to cut out from a parametrically generated blank. The preview looked like it will work, but when I clicked OK nothing was cut.

Nothing happened after clicking OK.Nothing happened after clicking OK.

So what can I do to pattern a grid and result in a single body?

Can you share your model?

Hi,

If you connect the primary instance to the base body via join, for example, the elements of the pattern are also connected.
I would use the "Faces" option instead of "Feature" for the pattern.

Attached model on top post.

I changed compute type from Adjust to Optimized and it worked. Is it a bug?

If you change the pattern compute type from "Adjust" to "Optimized" it'll work:

No,
This is a special option when using patterns.

Unfortunately, there are no clear instructions on when to select which option.
In my opinion, "Adjust" should not be the default option, as it is intended for adapting to an existing geometry.

A few months ago @laughingcreek provide a method to create a pattern of bodies and have them all combine into one single body.  The video will show this.
