Combine function issue

Hello,

I have some issues with combine function.

I have component 1 and component 2 that I want to cut out of component 1

The issue is, I need to cut out 2x component 2 in different positions.

So I select combine function, select component 1 as my target body and select the first component 2 as tool. At this moment, the second component 2 I need to select disappears. It is still there (I can select it) but it's not visible for some strange reason.

if I need to cut out 50x the same component, I'm lost since I can't find them... Looks like bug to me.

any suggestions ?

Thanks a lot

Hi @jezek.jaroslav

I tried cutting and it worked without component2 disappearing, so yeah I think it's a bug you're facing

Did you try reopeing the file? or restarting Fusion?

But just to make it clear, the component is still there just not visible because it's inside of component 1, so you should be able to select it

combine works on bodies, not components.  when you do the first combine, the body that is in component 2 becomes a part of the body in component 1.  component 2 is still there, there just is not a body in it any more.

you can use "keep tools" setting in the combine to make it work the way you want.  or you could pattern the resulting geometry instead.

I just checked deeper into this and this only happens when components 2 (cutting tools) are linked components (instances).

Yes, it happens only if they are instances.

I don't know what is wrong so the components go invisible once one of them is selected...

yep. expected behavior for instances.

what is happening to one instance is happening to ALL the instances.  the body goes invisible in the first one to show the preview result of the combine, so the body goes invisible for all the instances.
