Hello,

The challenge I have here is the following: Imagine a manual awning where the fabric coils up on itself over a transversal rotating bar. Another example would be a trasparent measuring tape case where you could visualise the tape being recoiled and later is drawn out to a specified length.

I don´t know how to properly execute this animation; also, do i sketch the fabric as a simple rectangle on a plane, or already coiled up?

Just wondering if somebody has been able to achieve something like this bofore with fusion360.

kind regards,

Jeffrey

Thank you, to answer your question, not yet. I would like to know how to confront this situation before investing the time designing all other elements.

is the animation the end goal?

Fusion isn't going to be able to do this type of animation.  you might be able to fake something that's passible, but I can't think of a way to fake it ottomh.

You can do this type of animation in blender but that's  whole different skill set. and a very steep learning curve.
