Circular Dependency Issues

Hello,

I wanted to first apologize, in that i'm relatively new to Fusion 360 and have been learning it through the project that i'll be discussing.

Basically, i've been working on a model for a few months, and have made continuous updates to the model.  When i logged on this morning to make a small change, I received a "Error: Circular dependency found: from Fillet9 to Sketch55." error.   Neither of these items were things that i've done recently.  I then opened older versions of the file and found that the same error was now occurring on models that previously had no problems.

I rolled my history back to literally nothing, and was still receiving the error.

I am stuck, and cant do ANYTHING with the model at this time.

Help!

Unless you share your model, we can't really do anything either 😉

You can either export it as a .f3d file and attach it to your next post, or you can use the share functionality in the data panel inFusion 360.

Indeed!  Thanks for the instructions on how to share it as well!

Please be gentle, its one of my first models.

The model itself is impressive and I've added a screenshot of it below so visitors have a chance to give you a Kudos on it!!!

However, the timeline, particularly in the beginning is full of warnings and errors that would need to be fixed before this circular dependency can be fixed.

Every yellow highlighted item in the timeline is a warning, every red icon is an error. This model is severely broken.

In general for this sort of modeling you may want to explore the direct modeling in Fusion 360 as my guesstimate is the the parametric nature of Fusion 360 is less important to these sort of models.

If you are happy with the model so far, you could save it under a different name and then with that new file turn of the timeline and see if you can continue to work on it in direct modeling mode. To turn off the timeline - please be aware that all the timeline info will be erased and cannot be brought back - you can right-click on the root of the browser and select "Do not capture design history".

Hey Trippy,

Thanks for the kudos and the input!  Like i said, the model was a learning experience, thus the errors (especially in the beginning).  My plan was to explore the modeling portion of Fusion 360 with my next project, so i appreciate the insight!

I've taken your advice and completed the "do not capture design history" route.  This seems to have worked and I can now make the minor modifications I need. Thankfully, the model is 99% complete and this should not create a problem.

Any idea into why this suddenly happened, and why/how it seemed to "corrupt" the older file saves into also not working?

I really appreciate the help, and am thoroughly impressed with the Autodesk support and community support on this forum, so Kudos to everyone!

Thanks!
