Changing model orientation on material, in Slicer for Fusion 360

Hello all,

I am working on a large scale model for a local museum, they are happy with the design but I have run into some problems using Slicer to set up the machining. I have broken the model into pieces I thought would allow for everything to fit on my 1/2 plywood.

Unfortunately I am still getting errors that my pieces are too large for the material, but I am fairly comfortable that re-orienting the piece on the material would render better results.

Is there anyway to do this? If not does anyone have any work around suggestions?

I've attached a screenshot feel free to request more.

Hey apvind,

Judging from the picture below, like you said, it definitely looks like the part should be able to fit on the sheet. I don't know why it isn't rotating to fit, but the workaround I would use would be to print the layout with the 4X8 sheets, then make a new file with an oversized sheet (like 8X8). You can still get the vectors off of that, then move and rotate them to fit in another program that can manipulate vector files.

Thanks Jon!

I actually ended up re-importing the dxf's generated back into fusion to lay out the cuts!
