I am trying to figure out of it is possible to change the orientation of a joint origin in Fusion 360. Please see below photos.
Workflow:
*Click joint (rigid).
*Click point on object 1.
*No option to choose direction of joint origin.
*Click origin.
*Joint forms automatically.
Desired workflow:
*Click joint (rigid).
*Hover over point on object 1, have some method to change which axis is normal to the joint face.
*Click origin, or other joint point and possibly have method to change orientation there too.
Is this possible? I feel silly that I don't know how to do this after how many years using fusion. Am I wrong that this is needed functionality if it doesn't exist?
Thanks
You can create a Joint Origin, this give you the ability to change the orientation pretty easily.
Not enough information.
There is a plate, and an Origin.
Component moving is selected first.
The selection on this component will take a limited number of orientations dependant on what you select, point, edge or face.
If unable to select the orientation you need, then you can create a Joint origin , set the orientation, before making the Joint.
Jointing to an origin is limited to the 3 axis directions.
Might help….
