Change drawing template after creating drawing

I have a custom title block and a drawing template created, I'd like to go back to an old drawing (with the standard ISO block) and change the drawing template to the new, custom one.

Is this possible? Or will I need to insert the title block to every existing drawing?

Thanks,

George

Hi George,

Once a drawing is created using a certain template, the template itself can't be changed. So you will need to insert the new title block (DWG) into the existing drawings.

Thanks,

Chris

Just as an additional note, if you add a new title block to the template, any NEW drawings created off of it *will* use that new title block. You'll just have to manually insert the new title block into existing drawings already created off of that old template.

This is still annoying in 2025 that templates cannot be updated/replaced in-situ on existing drawings.

agreed - there needs to be a feature to update a drawing to use a new template
