Change component clone to independent copy

I have a design with quite a few copied components using the copy/paste. In hind sight I probably should have used the copy/paste as new. Is there a way I can unlink the dependancy or do I need to delete and re copy/paste as new?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe you can use "make independant". I recall at one point you could not do this unless you switched to direct modeling mode which may or may not still be the case.

Search the forum for "make independant" and you'll see some info on this in the first few results.

Yes, you are right. I knew it was there somewhere. Didn't think to change modes and I was seemingly not searching the old posts with the right words. Found lots of posts now that you have pointed me in the right direction. For others who may find this post here is how it's done:
In current version at least you need to right click at top of tree then select "do not capture design history". Now when right clicking any dependent components in the tree will give you the option to "make independent".
